Exciting New Features of the Attendease Platform

Attendee Applications

There are certain exclusive events that require attendees to be vetted. Whether these events are internal, invite only, or simply have a limited capacity, there are times when you need an application process. We recently released an attendee application process.

With the new attendee application experience you can build an application form, add it to a page on your event website, and then set default messaging for approvals and rejections (as well as identify who should be notified when new applications are submitted). 

Once you begin receiving applications you’re able to review each of the submissions and approve or reject them. Approved attendees can be sent a private invite or registration code to gain access to registration. Alternately, you can choose to upload and auto register approved applicants.

Attendee Matching by Group

You are likely familiar with our Attendee Matching feature which allows you to send email blasts to all registered attendees, to all checked-in attendees, or to a specific group of pass holders. We have just released an enhancement which will allow you to send email blasts to specific pricing groups.

Announcing Attendease Design Enhancements

Your branding is a powerful statement. Your brand conveys a variety of messages (subtle or not so subtle) about your product or company. Think benefits, values, culture, and personality (to name a few). We want to make it easier for you to stay on brand so we’ve added some design enhancements this week to help you make a statement.

Default Email Template Themes

We offer a number of email templates which allow you to stay on brand while you communicate with your attendees. Configuring those templates, however, can take a bit of time. So when you need a great looking default email template fast, you can now simply choose from a light or dark theme (to contrast with your event logo) and it will look great right “out of the box”. This default template will now apply to all of your outgoing emails that you haven’t chosen an alternate template for.

Featured Content Block (for Mobile)

The Featured Content Block (the marquee or banner image with text overlay used on most event websites) is often the first thing a user will see when they arrive on your website. We have added two enhancements to make this block adapt better to different screen sizes.

Add a mobile specific image
Now you can add a separate image that will only be displayed on screen widths associated with mobile devices (phones and most tablets). This gives you greater flexibility by allowing you to select the scale and crop of the mobile-specific image rather than relying on the platform to auto-crop and auto-scale it for you. In other words, if you use this feature the image will typically look better on phones and tablets!

In the past, the heading and text sizes for the overlay were applied consistently to both desktop and mobile versions of the block. Due to the differences in screen size this could result in the heading and text sizes looking too big or too small depending on the device you were viewing them on. We have now implemented a mobile-only set of rules to control the heading and text sizes so these elements look great all the time.

New Accordion Block 

We’ve added a brand new accordion block to the Attendease CMS that can be used on your event website and organization portal pages. This block is very useful when you want to toggle between hiding and showing a large amount of text like on an FAQ page, for instance.

New Form Builder Display Options

You now have access to some new options on your forms Display tab to make your Attendease registration forms even more beautiful. The new Spacer lets you add vertical space anywhere on your form, and the new Separator Line lets you place and customize horizontal lines between form fields or form sections.

Better Form Validation for Your Attendees

We’ve reduced the confusion for your attendees when they have missing or invalid data when trying to submit their registration forms. By adding some animations and style changes to the form in those cases, this aims to reduce attendee drop-off at one of the most crucial steps of the attendee lifecycle… Registration.

We’re excited to share exciting updates to the Marketing module on the Attendease platform. This includes an easier way to add analytics and advertising conversion tracking snippets, and a more robust email platform to manage your event email marketing campaigns. Keep reading to learn the details!


Website Analytics & Conversion Tracking

Capture useful metrics about visitors to your event website by using tracking tools. Adding tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or LinkedIn Insights to your event website is now easier than ever. 

If you have already added these in the Custom Head Script section of your event website, you can continue using your existing implementation or remove it and enter the ID into the corresponding field to replace the code. 

More options for the Advanced Session Schedule
Introducing more settings that allow you to customize the look and feel of the Advanced Sessions Schedule! You now have greater control over the colors of this section, alignment of text and sessions, and more! 

 Updates to the Card Row block

A versatile block used for a multitude of purposes needs to be flexible in order to suit everyone’s needs and different events. That’s why we’re excited to announce the latest update to the Card Row block. You are now able to choose the position of the text on the card, make edits to the look and feel of the image with Image Presets, and more!

Event Tech Awards 2018

We are pleased to announce that Attendease has been shortlisted for two categories under the Event Tech Awards 2018: Best Event Management Platform, and Best Hybrid Event or Live Streaming Solution. The awards are now in their sixth year and will once again recognize the achievements of companies delivering digital and technological solutions to the events industry. The event will happen on November 7th, in London, when the winners will be announced. #FingersCrossed This is not Attendease’s first rodeo tho, in 2016 we won the awards for Best Event Website/ Mobile Site. #GoTeam!

New Features: It’s all about the Attendee experience!

It's all about the Attendee experience

At Attendease we are consistently listening to our customers and improving our platform. Here are some of the latest improvements we launched that you can start using right away!

Theme Colors
With theme colours you are able to determine the look and feel of your event websites with precision. Use the “Theme Color” section on the Site Settings screen to update your preferences. Immediately get an idea of what the selected colours will look like in the preview area.

Print/PDF button

Make it easy for your attendees to print a page by adding a “Print/PDF” button to your website. Add the button via the Heading block or on your event portal with the Event Listing block. Clicking the button will give the user detailed instructions on how to print or turn the page into a PDF.

Event Requests

Allow your registrants to request an event to be added to your organization’s Event Portal Calendar. Once approved and set up, event will be automatically created and added to the calendar.

Event and Organization Notes available
Let your colleagues know the important information by leaving a note directly in the Attendease Dashboard. Whether you want to share something with other Owners in the organization or if it’s related directly to a particular event, we’ve got you covered.

More enhancements and updates:

  • Improved functionality when uploading or editing images in Registration Form fields. It is now possible to both zoom and crop the image in the interface.
  • We’ve made it easier for your attendees to add your event and their scheduled sessions to their calendar by adding “Add-to-Calendar” options directly on their Attendee Profile
  • The Import Attendees feature now gives more detailed feedback when you upload and automatically register attendees.

Isn’t technology great? Sometimes it feels like we are living in the future! Exciting new developments are always just around the corner. While driverless cars and pizza deliveries by drone are not yet available (to us mere mortals) there are some exciting updates from Attendease that are available today. You heard right – today! 

Attendee upload & auto register

Attendease now supports uploading a .csv file with a list people who will be automatically registered for an event. Each attendee who has been uploaded receive an email to confirm their reservation and access the event website. Simply navigate to the Attendees screen in your event dashboard. Note that at the moment we are only supporting 3 registration fields: first name, last name, and email. 

Replace or delete files uploaded during registration

We all make mistakes, that’s just human nature. So we decided to make it easier for your attendees to replace or delete files they uploaded during registration. Don’t love your profile photo? No problem. Have a new version of that PDF? Simple. Attendees can now login to your account and select the My Registration tab to replace or delete files.

Watch Now feature is available for Advanced Schedule

The “Watch now” feature allows you to host a video – recorded or live streamed – that is only accessible to registered users for a limited period of time. Registered attendees who schedule a session with Watch now enabled are automatically checked into the session when they access the video content. This allows you to easy produce a report which shows who accessed the content. This feature is now available with the Advanced Session Schedule block!

More Enhancements

We have also released a handful of additional enhancements, including:

  • Enable an additional step to verify a registrant’s email address
  • Embed content from Twitter on your event website. 
  • Add a LinkedIn Insight Tag to your website

New Features: Event Portal Websites

New features event portal websites

If your company or organization hosts many events, an Event Portal is great for displaying all of the ongoing and upcoming events. Today we are announcing three new features to enhance your Event Portal website. Additionally, we’ve updated the names of some of our website content blocks.

Add an event calendar
In addition to displaying events in a list format, you are now able to display events in calendar format. Users can easily navigate the calendar, and filters can be applied so that it is easier to view different types of events.

Make your portal private
Don’t want to let just anyone see all events you are hosting? By setting your Event Portal as private, you decide who has access to your website. 


Display “Other Events”

At times, you may want to showcase or inform visitors to your Event Portal about events hosted by another organization. With the “Other Events” feature you are able to display non-Attendease events in the event list and calendar.

Providing a Better Attendee Experience With Five New Features

We’ve been busy here at the Attendease Hive improving our platform. We are excited to announce five new features that will support providing a better attendee experience.

File Uploads in Registration Forms

During the registration process there is a lot of important information to capture. We are excited to announce two new registration form components that allows your attendees to upload files during registration:

  • File upload: Choose what type of file you want your attendee to upload
  • Profile photo: The uploaded image is connected to the attendee’s profile photo

Add and configure these form components as you would any other form component on your registration form. 

Members now have the ability to access their Attendee account from any screen. By clicking “My Account” the attendee will see the option to go directly to the screen where they can manage their registration, view their invoice, and more. Note: This option will only appear if you have enabled your attendees to access their attendee accounts.

Manage “My events”

We are excited to announce this new feature for Organizations and Business Units using the Event Portal Sites. When someone is signed into their Member Account, they are now able to navigate to the “My Events” page. On this screen, the Member will see all upcoming and past events they have registered for. 

Filter and Register for Sessions

Attendees are now able to filter and register for sessions, view their personalized session schedule, and access session surveys with the click of a button using the Advanced Session Schedule block.

Choose Schedule Time Zone

Attendees can now control in which time zone sessions are displayed. Choose between displaying the sessions:

  • in the event’s time zone
  • in the attendee’s time zone
  • or, give your attendees the ability to choose themselves

This feature is available for the Advanced Session Schedule block, Session Schedule block, Event Listing block, and the  Scheduling Widget.

Advanced Session Schedule

With our latest feature—the Advanced Session Schedule block—you can control exactly how you want your event schedule to appear. Like the Session Schedule block, scheduling data dynamically syncs with your event site keeping your schedule or agenda perfectly up to date.

Along with increased control and flexibility for the schedule layout, this block also supports speaker company logos, session sponsors, live-stream and on-demand video content, session attachments, and more. Learn More.

Private Invitations

Whether you’re planning an internal company meeting, an exclusive event, or anything in between – Private Invitations is a feature you don’t want to miss. This new feature lets you decide who is allowed to register by restricting registration to those individuals who have received an invitation. Learn More.

Free event? Choose how passes are displayed

If your event is free you are now able to choose how (and if) event passes are displayed. Make your selection on the Registration Options screen.

Customize your speaker order

Decide which order you want your event speakers to appear in by enabling the setting on the Speakers block and assigning an order value to each speaker. Learn More.

More options when selecting your event currency

Multi-currency options at the event level give you greater flexibility when you are creating your event. In addition to Canadian and US Dollars, you are now able to choose if event transactions will be completed with Pound Sterling (GBP) or Euros. Note that only one currency per event can be selected. This feature is available for all customers. Enhancements to the Business Units screen

In our latest instalment of our platform-wide design refresh, we are introducing a new look to the Business Units screen. Immediately see the number of events, members, and event attendees in your organization.
